Accessibility Statement

Effective

At a glance

We want everyone who is drawn to this work to be able to learn about it, and to know honestly what the land can support. This website aims to meet WCAG 2.2 at level AA. If anything here is hard to use, or you have access needs for a gathering, write to us and we will help.

1. Our commitment

Of The Heart is committed to making oftheheart.one usable by as many people as possible, including people who use assistive technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

This statement covers the website. Access at our gatherings is described separately below.

2. How this website supports access

  • Keyboard. Every link, menu, and question can be reached and used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline and a “Skip to content” link on every page.
  • Screen readers. Pages use one main heading, ordered headings, labelled navigation landmarks, and text alternatives for meaningful images. Decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Readable text and contrast. Text and controls are designed to meet WCAG AA contrast, and pages can be zoomed without losing content.
  • Reduced motion. If your device asks for reduced motion, decorative animation is turned off.
  • Works without JavaScript. All content and navigation are available with JavaScript turned off. The live countdown is the only feature that needs it, and its starting values are shown without it.
  • Touch targets. Links and buttons are sized for comfortable tapping on phones.

3. How we check

We test pages with automated accessibility checks and manual keyboard review at phone and desktop sizes. We have not yet commissioned an independent accessibility audit.

4. Known limitations

Some photographs show complex natural scenes, and their text descriptions are necessarily brief. Some text appears over photographs in page headers; it sits on a darkened overlay to keep it readable, but contrast can vary slightly across an image.

If you find a barrier we have not listed, please tell us. We would rather know.

5. Compatibility

The site is built with standard HTML and is designed to work with current versions of major browsers and the screen readers and magnifiers that run on them. Very old browsers may display pages more simply.

6. Accessibility at our gatherings

Our gatherings are held at Heram Al Noor, a rural property in the Texas Hill Country. Some of what we know about the land:

  • The Heavenly View lodge is a four-story wooden building with decks on every level.
  • The glamping cabins sit on a wooded hillside, connected by a shared porch and boardwalk, with a shared bathroom and shower house.
  • Days can include hikes and time outdoors on natural ground.

We have not yet published a full access guide to the property.

7. Requesting accommodations

Before you register, please tell us about any mobility, sensory, dietary, or other access needs. We will tell you honestly what the land and lodging can support, and what we can arrange.

You do not need to share medical details to ask. Please do not send medical records by email.

8. Feedback and contact

If something on this site is hard to use, or you need information in another format, write to hello@oftheheart.one with the subject line “Accessibility.” Tell us the page and what happened, and we will fix it or get you the information another way.

9. Changes to this statement

We will update this statement as the website and our gatherings change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version.
